A: Scan, rain and reflective modes are not selectable in the Nikon ProStaff 440. To scan, just hold down the activation button and pan with the range finder. Rain mode is built in.

At the high magnification level required for reading small numbers at 200 feet, it will be very hard to hold binoculars steady enough for a decent view. Hence image-stabilized binoculars. They're the best out there.
